April 6 to 9, 2024

This may be your biggest coffee adventure this year! Journey with us into the heart of the Cordilleras, into the enchanting town of Barlig, home to the pristine mountains. There, hidden in the lush rainforests, are coffee farms developed by young indigenous farmers who left their life in the bustling city, to take part in the preservation of our environment, and our culture. Listen to their stories, and learn from “men of the soil” how coffee is grown, how the environment affects the coffee cup profile, and what you can also do to take part in this rising movement of young coffee growers and champions.

Come and understand the role of the rainforest in coffee productivity and resilience. Learn about the culture and partake of indigenous meals, listen to stories over bonfire dinner and go around heritage sites that are ingrained in our identity as Filipinos. The workshops are TESDA-accredited under Farm to Cup Philippines.

This rainforest camp experience is rustic and off-grid, for the adventurous, not for the faint of heart. You will experience full immersion into the life of a coffee farmer in the rainforest. For four days, you will live their daily struggles, you will feel their hopes and joys, you will eat what they eat and walk where they walk. And it will be no walk in the park. There is mountainous terrain, there are insects and frogs and crickets. There are no restaurants, no wifi, no hotel-like accommodations. All meals will be cooked at the farm, and we will sleep communal style (girls will be separated from men, of course!). Mattresses and pillows will be provided, bring your own blankets, toiletries and towels. Please dont forget to pack your hiking sandals or boots, and anti-mosquito lotions.

Yet, these are all part of an experience that will be ingrained in your memory. Hopefully, when you leave the rainforest and get back to the city, you will have a different perspective of what farming is about, and a fresh new appreciation for those who till the soil, day in and day out.

Are you ready for the challenge? Then come join us.

Add-on options:
